Annex DIY How To: Studded Cut-Off Jean Shorts

Custom altered cut-offs have turned into big business in the last few years! Etsy is just full of them (to the point where it's turned into a bit of a cottage industry), and even Urban Outfitters has its own line of custom dyed and studded highwaisted shorts.

We stock our own in-house range of custom jean shorts (see here and here!) and we've been putting studs on all things denim! You can also make your own denim shorts at home. It's really pretty easy and you can get the studs at any leather supply store or online.

All you need is: A pair of jeans (we prefer vintage Levis), a pair of scissors, needle nose pliers, bleach and studs

Step 1: Find a pair of jeans that you can part with!

Step 2: Cut to perfect length

Step 3: Leave in 100% bleach solution for 10-15 minutes (we opted to give ours a bit of an ombre fade by rolling the jeans and standing them up in the bleach). Wash and dry.

Step 4: Add studs wherever you like

And there you go! Your own pair of custom studded Levis shorts.

Annex stocks a large selection of cut-off shorts and Levis jeans perfect for customizing. And a reminder! For a very limited time, everything in the store is 30% off as part of our big summer sale!
